added to your list, things that piss me off:
1. People who go abroad and then take pictures there to show that they have money and have been able to visit some popular places, all this to expect comments like "wow great pics, wow u r lucky, "etc.

2.People who have given birth to a child and then posting the child's pics on facebook, all this to be able to show that they've succeeded in giving birth to a child and expecting comments like "cute boy/girl, nice prince/princess, prince/ess is growing up, s/he's so cute, etc"plus a lot of likes.

3.Woman showing their pregnancy on facebook.

4.People wasting their times making updates of themselves everyday, like "going to lunch in the city...just had a good beer...just watched Scary Movie 6...feeling dizzy today....feeling well today". They make me waste my precious time reading these, and I always want to reply "so what?"

5.People of colour taking pictures with caucassians to show that "yeah I am a friend with a white, you see, I am important".

6.People saying I love you on their wall to their girl/boyfriends/fiancee.

7.People posting so many of their wedding pics, and expecting comments like "great couple, superb dress, u r so beautiful, etc" and likes.

Bhawna, the heart is never condemned to beat on its own, especially the one who has been hurt. If you are a religious person then surrender your heart to god, he will take care of it. Trust him that when the right one comes forward, he will in turn hand over your heart to that person and you won't be lonely again.

When the youthful is taken over by time, when the clarity of the mirror is stained beyond recognition, when the horizons are devoid of any apparitions, then is the heart not condemned to beat on its own? Who to hand the heart over to, if there is only emptiness pervading the scene?

Dear maiden
You once found a broken man. You healed him, nursed his heart and soul, tendered to the wounds that once swords and knives pierced through. You breathed life and love into him. He has now turned his back to explore new horizons, leaving you behind in anguish and pain.
Oh my sweet maiden, do not languish over him for wise men do not sorrow over the dead. The unreal has no existence. The love in you is eternal, all-pervading, immovable, constant and everlasting. Open your eyes, look in front of you and hand over your heart full of love to someone who will forever cherish you.

A battered knight hears of a girl in need or a breakthrough,
He mounts his ride and gallops for the rescue.

This knight has fought many battles and been on many quests,
The last of which is to find a heart and lay down and rest.

He has shown a lot of valor and killed many a beast
He has always been true to his honor and has not regretted in the least.

But like the old maiden he rides to save
he wonders if it's not too much haste

He has been on such adventures before , but the tale was sad
the princesses once freed found him too mad

they wanted dresses, servants and a palace full of gold
and all he had was his horse, his armor and a bread full of mold

is this maiden just another ?
once freed , will the girl's love be creased and decreased ?
like a flower withered and fading, her laughter ancient and stringient ...

I'm not a literature person analysing and disecting characters. for me ,everyone has got a personal view or identification to a story , depending on one's background and life experiences.

For me Selma is just a rotten romantic, watches too many hindi movies and reads too many romantic books. she is intelligent, has done relatively well and thinks she is pretty . But to her detriment her achievements/company have made her a little of a dreamer , bigger than her shoes . She feel like a little princess with all the ugly connotations of it ; is not so humble, nor grateful , in fact leaning on the arrogant, condescending side.

She had found love but unlike in her little idealist world where she lives happily ever after, circumstances happen as they do in real life and they seperate. she can't accept it easily and takes this failure to heart . A big blow to her ego . She lives harrowed and chained onto that love and she has not moved on. she is bitter about it and and takes her rage , like a mad monkey at anything that doesn't go her way or how she'd like it to be.

That to my opinion is a picture of princess Selma and her legend. The poem is open to individual interpretations. like i say , i'm not a literature person and dont believe in a common one :)
